"Compton Cookout"

The L.A. Times posted a recent update on the “Compton Cookout”, a “ghetto” themed cookout that required all of the attendees to wear large chains, baggy clothing, gold teeth, in an attempt to mimic what was considered African American culture. African American students at UC San Diego have began to speak out on the offensiveness of the “Compton Cookout” idea that was posed by white students via a Facebook event invite at the university.
